We are living in unprecedented times. COVID-19 and necessary social distancing are affecting all aspects of the Animal Medical Center's operations, but the dedication of our staff is unwavering. They continue to provide lifesaving care to the beloved companion animals, even during this vulnerable time.
The impact on AMC has been tremendous, and it is not only operational, but financial. We currently project a cumulative loss of $7.5 million in income by the end of 2020.
We are actively taking steps to alleviate the shortfall in revenue by making difficult but necessary adjustments to AMC's operating budget and to our daily operations. In addition, we are evaluating our investments and seeking government assistance.
We have also established a COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund and are hopeful you will help us in this time of crisis by making a special gift, in whatever magnitude is possible.
Throughout AMC's 110-year history, we have weathered many storms without ever compromising our commitment to providing the best possible care. With your support and partnership today, we know that we can overcome this challenging time and continue on our path to a brighter future.
